MikroTik VPS
RouterOS in a datacenter, reachable from anywhere.
A MikroTik VPS runs RouterOS as a Cloud Hosted Router, so the routing, firewall, VPN and bandwidth-management tools you already use on MikroTik hardware are available without the hardware. Every plan includes a RouterOS P1 licence, a dedicated IPv4 address and a 1 Gbps port — from $7 a month.
What you get
The same RouterOS, without the hardware.
Every plan is licensed and addressed the same way. The plans differ only in CPU, memory and storage, so you pick a size rather than a feature set.
-
The full RouterOS feature set
Routing, firewall, VPN, queueing and monitoring — the same RouterOS you configure on a RouterBOARD, with the same Winbox and CLI workflow.
-
A P1 licence on every plan
The licence is included in the monthly price, not sold separately. P1 allows up to 1 Gbps per interface — the free CHR licence stops at 1 Mbps.
-
A dedicated IPv4 address
One public address of your own on every plan, so tunnel endpoints and firewall rules have something fixed to point at.
-
A 1 Gbps port
Matched to what the P1 licence can actually pass, so the port is never the thing holding the router back.
-
Full administrative access
The router is yours to configure. You hold the credentials — which also means a lost password means a rebuild, so keep an export of your configuration.
-
Hosted in US datacenters
Routers run in datacenters in the United States. If your tunnels end somewhere else, tell us where, so we can tell you what latency to expect.
Built for
What people run on them.
A Cloud Hosted Router is most often the fixed point in a network that everything else connects back to.
- Site-to-site VPN termination
- Remote access VPN (WireGuard, IPsec, L2TP)
- BGP and routing between networks
- Firewall and bandwidth management
Licensing
RouterOS licensing, in plain terms.
CHR licences are tiered, and the tier sets the throughput ceiling per interface — not the feature list. Every plan on this page includes P1, so a router that arrives is a router that works. If you need more than a gigabit per interface, that is a licence change rather than a different product, and we will quote it.
- Free — 1 Mbps per interface. Enough to try RouterOS, not enough to run anything. We do not sell it.
- P1 — 1 Gbps per interface. Included on every plan below.
- P10 — 10 Gbps per interface. Available on request, priced per instance.
- P-Unlimited — no interface ceiling. Available on request, priced per instance.
Simple, transparent pricing.

FAQ
Common questions.
What is a Cloud Hosted Router?
Cloud Hosted Router (CHR) is MikroTik’s RouterOS packaged as a virtual machine instead of shipped on a RouterBOARD. It is the same RouterOS, with the same routing, firewall, VPN and queueing features and the same Winbox and CLI workflow — running on a server in a datacenter rather than on hardware in your office.
What does the P1 licence allow?
P1 lifts the throughput ceiling to 1 Gbps per interface and unlocks the full RouterOS feature set. The free CHR licence caps each interface at 1 Mbps, which is why we don’t sell it — every plan here includes P1 in the monthly price.
Can I get a P10 or unlimited licence?
Yes. P10 raises the ceiling to 10 Gbps per interface and P-Unlimited removes it. Both are priced per instance — tell us the throughput you need and we’ll quote it.
Do I get full access to the router?
Yes. You hold the administrative credentials and configure the router yourself. Because we don’t keep a copy, a lost password can’t be recovered — the router has to be rebuilt from defaults, so keep an export of your configuration somewhere safe.
Tell us what the router has to carry.
Throughput, tunnels and where the other ends are. We’ll recommend a plan and a licence tier that match, and say so if you don’t need one from us at all.
